When I first came to the hospital, I didn't see anyone else my own age with whom I could connect or strike up a conversation. I felt isolated and restricted.
Seeing Macmillan booklets and posters was really helpful in making me feel like I wasn't fighting this battle alone.
I strive to give back in whatever I do today since each charity helped me when I needed it.
Now, I feel like it's my duty to be there for others - especially younger patients - offer them advice, guidance, and hopefully inspire them that there isn't someone like me out there.
All donations and proceeds support Macmillan and Guy's Cancer.
Guy's Cancer
The Cancer Centre at Guy's is a place for cancer treatment and outpatients, treating many different cancer types, offering chemotherapy, radiotherapy, drug biological target therapies, surgery, transplants, as well as supportive care through the Dimbleby Cancer Care drop-in information and support centre.
Macmillan Cancer Support
Macmillan Cancer Support is one of the largest British charities and provides specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer. It also looks at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have, and campaigns for better cancer care.
Fundraising for Change
Here’s what the funds raised can support

£10 could help run a virtual support group session, enabling patients and carers to share their experiences of cancer from the comfort of their own home.
-
£17 could help a member of the Cancer Information and Support team on the Macmillan Support Line deal with a call or web enquiry from someone who wants questions answered, need practical and emotional support, or help to navigate cancer services.
-
£33 could pay for a Macmillan nurse for 1 hour helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical, and emotional support.
-
£50 could help provide a comforting care package for someone receiving end-of-life care, helping to alleviate symptoms and soothe fears.
